IBDAware is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing updated, credible information on IBD and funding IBD research. Through partnering with hospitals, we’re able to facilitate donations towards research and patient care in pediatric gastroenterology.
Why was IBDAware started?
IBDAware’s founder, Nitish Bhamidipati, is a diagnosed IBD patient since March of 2020. While going through the treatment process, he noticed a lack of easy-to-understand resources online about IBD. Because he was diagnosed just as the shutdown during the COVID-19 pandemic began, he had minimal contact with doctors and his understanding of IBD was limited to the complex written information online.
IBDAware changes that, by not only giving resources on IBD that are easy to understand, but also providing platforms for discussion with a forum and blog, and opportunities to ask questions openly online relating to IBD.
